a.定冠詞the在元音音素前發(fā)/ei:/或/ei/;在輔音音素前發(fā)/e?/。判斷一個單詞是以元音開頭還是以輔音開頭,應(yīng)根據(jù)音標而不是元音字母a,e,i,o,u.
b.同時,不定冠詞a和an的發(fā)音也遵循這條規(guī)則,即a用在以輔音音素開頭的單詞前,讀作/?/,只有強調(diào)時才讀作/ei/。an用在以元音音素開頭的單詞前,一般讀作/?n/,只有強調(diào)時才讀作/?n/.
