1.Translation:
  1.我正在上網(wǎng),這時(shí)聽見有人感救命。
  2.他正要出門購物,一位不速之客來拜訪。
  3.我們剛到家,這時(shí)電話鈴響了。
1.Her hands had almost been cut off.
她的雙手幾乎被砍斷了。
cut of 切下來;切斷,砍下
e.g.The electricity was cut off for several days.
The enemy soldiers were cut off from the outside.
敵軍與外界的聯(lián)系被切斷。
He was in hospital for 3months.He felt as if he was cut
off from the rest of the world.
短評(píng)歸納與拓展:
1)cut down 砍倒:降低;刪掉
e.g.It is no good cutting down the trees in the forest.
The workers are doing all they can to cut down the
accident rate.
工人們正在盡一切努力降低事故率。
2)cut in 插嘴(后不帶賓語)干涉
(=get in a word=bread in );
She always cuts in when other people are talking.
3)cut up 切碎;切成小塊;使痛苦
(=cut sth into pieces)
e.g.A cook was cutting up the meat for making
dumplings.
廚師正在切肉包餃子
4)cut out 剪下;剪裁;刪除
You'd better cut out that sentence in your writing.
5)cut through 抄近路走過;迅速通過
He cut throuth a forest to get home.
他穿過一片森林才回到家。
6)cut across 走捷徑;抄近路穿過;打斷
We can save time if we cut across this field.
如果我們抄近路從這田墅橫穿著過去,就可以節(jié)省時(shí)間。
2.It was John's action and knowledge of first aid that
saved Ms Slade's life.
正是約翰快捷和急救知識(shí)救了斯萊德女士的命。
本句整體是一個(gè)強(qiáng)調(diào)句,強(qiáng)調(diào)的是句子的主語
John's action and knowledge of first aid.
1)基本結(jié)構(gòu):
It is/was+被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分+who/that......
強(qiáng)調(diào)“人”,用who/that;強(qiáng)調(diào)“物”用,that。
2)這種或式由普通陳述句轉(zhuǎn)換而來,用來強(qiáng)調(diào)句中除謂語和定
語之外的任何成分。
Karl bought his son a  bicycle on his birthday.
卡爾在兒子生日那天給他買了一輛自行車。
It was Karl that/who bought his son a bicycle on his
birthday.(強(qiáng)調(diào)主語)
It was on his birthday that Karl bought a bicycle.
It was a bircycle that Karl bought his son on his
birthday.(強(qiáng)調(diào)直接賓語)
3)強(qiáng)調(diào)句中的it is /was 和that /who去掉,句子結(jié)構(gòu)仍是完
整的。
4)一般疑問句:Is/Was+被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分+that/who....?
5)特殊疑問句:Is/Was+被強(qiáng)調(diào)部分+that/who其他成分?
e.g.Who is it that should be punished?
到底誰應(yīng)該受到懲罰?
When is it that you get up every day?
你究竟每天什么時(shí)候起床?
6)強(qiáng)調(diào)句的特殊疑問句若做動(dòng)詞的賓語,須用陳述語序。
e.g.I don't know who it is that should be punished.
我不知道究竟誰應(yīng)該受到懲罰。
I still remember where it was that I met Tom.
我仍然記得是在哪兒碰見湯姆的。
7)在含有until 引導(dǎo)的時(shí)間狀語的否定句中,如果強(qiáng)調(diào)時(shí)間狀
語,結(jié)構(gòu)是:
It is/was not until.......that......
e.g.It was not until we entered university that we
began studying French.
我們上大學(xué)后才開始學(xué)法語。
It was not until I Came back that be knew the news.
3.He immediately asked a number of nearby people for
bandages. But when nobody could put their hands on any, his father got some tea towels and tape from their house.
他立即向旁邊的一些人要繃帶,在他們都沒找到繃帶的時(shí)候,
他的父親就從屋里拿出一些檫杯盤的布和膠帶來。
1)a number of 若干;許多
e.g. A number of boys have been absent some time during
the term.
這學(xué)期有許多男生已缺課下段時(shí)間了。
A number of my friends are carzy about hungee.
我的許多朋友熱衷于蹦極。
注意:
(1)與number連用的形容詞是Large或small.
a small number of students 少數(shù)同學(xué)
(2) a number做主語時(shí),謂語動(dòng)詞用復(fù)數(shù)形式,
the number 做主語時(shí),謂語動(dòng)詞用單數(shù)形式。
e.g.The number of students attending high schools is
becoming larger and larger.
上高中的學(xué)生人數(shù)越來越多。
2) put one's hands on 找到
e.g.Few of the students have put their hands on the
materials for their compositons.
沒有幾個(gè)學(xué)和青年節(jié)到適合他們的作文素材。
It's most upset that you can't put your hands on it
when you badly need something.
最氣人的是當(dāng)你需要某樣?xùn)|西時(shí)卻偏偏找不到它。
4.He slowed the bleeding by applying pressure to the
wounds until the police and ambulance arrived.
他使勁地按住傷口,使血流得慢些,一直等到警察和救護(hù)車到
來。
1)apply.....to .....涂在.....表面;實(shí)施;應(yīng)用;致力于
e.g.Apply the cream to your face and neck.
把面霜涂在臉上和脖了上。
We should apply theory to practice.
2)apply to涉及;適用于
School regulations apply to every student.
校規(guī)適用于每個(gè)學(xué)生
3)apply for 申請
apply for a job/post/position
申請工作/崗位/職位
apply for leave 請假
5.There is no doubt that John's quick thinking and the
first aid skills he learned at school saved MsSlade's life.
毫無疑問,是約翰敏捷的思維和在學(xué)校學(xué)到的急救技術(shù),使得
斯萊德女士的和生命得救了。
There is no doubt.....意為“毫無疑問....."
There is 也可省略。
e.g. There is no doubt about it.
那是毫無疑問的。
There  is no doubt that we will be successful.
No doubt her death is related to her grief.
她的死無疑和她的痛苦有關(guān)。
注意:doubt后面可接介詞構(gòu)成短語doubt about sth,也可跟由
that 引導(dǎo)的同位語從句。
6.It shows that a kknowledge of first aid can  make a
real difference.
這表明簡單的急救知識(shí)的確能發(fā)揮重要的作用。
1)Knowledge知識(shí);學(xué)問
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
一知半解是危險(xiǎn)的事。
十大金剛:
fun,news,weather,information,muisic,progress,adivce,equipment,furnitrue,jewellery
Knowledge  知道,了解,熟悉
She has a good knowledge of Shanghai.
她對(duì)上海很熟悉。
2)make a difference關(guān)系重大;重要;與眾不同
e.g .The sea air has made a difference to her health
海上的空氣改善了她的健康狀況。
What I said makes no difference to him.
