apply用法詳解

用法一：apply表示“應用”、“運用”、“適用”等，
①.要表示“將…運用到…”，通常用介詞to：
We decided to apply a new method.
我們決定使用新的方法。
We can better apply theory to practice.
我們就能更好地把理論運用到實踐中去。
②.表示“適用”，要表示“適用于…”
通常用介詞to（不能用for）：
The rule doesn't apply in all cases.
此規則并非適用于所用的情形。
These methods apply to learning English.
這些方法適用于英語學習。

用法二：apply表示“申請”，注意以下用法:
①表示“申請得到…”，要用介詞for；
表示“申請做某事”，其后接不定時：
More than 30 people applied for the position.
有30多個人申請這個職位。
He applied to stay there.他申請留在那兒。
②表示“向…申請（得到）…”，通常用apply to…for…:
He applied to us for help.他向我們求援。

用法三：apply用于短語apply oneself to（專心致力于，專心從事），
其中的to是介詞，其后接名詞或動名詞：
He applied himself to his work.
他專心工作。
Apply your mind to your work.
專心工作吧。
