同位語從句

同位語從句
同位語從句之概念:
1.在句中起同位語的作用。
①一般放在名詞fact/news/idea/promise/thought/suggestion/demand/等之后,用以說明或解釋前面的名詞。
②同位語從句一般用連詞that,whether;代詞 what,who;副詞 when,where,why,how等詞引導
We heard the news that our team had won.
We heard the news that is interesting to us.
The problem whether it is right or wrong has not yet been decided.
I have no idea where he lives.
The question who will take his place is not clear.
I have no idea where he lives.'
The question who will take his place is not clear.
I have no idea what he is doing.
同位語從句之that:
2.that 引導同位語從句時,that不能省略。
We must face the fact that we fail.
The thought that we might succeed excited us.
The idea that they should try a second time is worth considering.
注意:
1.有時同位語從句不是直接跟在名詞后面,而是被其他詞隔開。
World came that they had won the game.
The thought came to him that maybe the enemy had fled the city.
2.名詞suggestion,advice,order等詞后的同位語從句的謂語動詞要用should+動詞原形,should可省略。
The suggestion that the plan(should) be delayed will be discussed tomorrow.
試比較:
1)He put forward the suggestion that the second question should be discussed first.(同位語從句)
2)The suggestion that he had put forward was turned down.(定語從句)
同位語從句與定語從句的不同之處
1)、從句的作用不同:
The news that our team has won the final match is encouraging.
The news that you told us is really encouraging.
2)、引導從句的關聯詞that的功能不同:
①Dad made a promise that he would buy me CD player if I passed the English test.
(that不充當任何成分)
②Dad made a promise that excited all his children.
3)、同位語從句中引導詞可為what,而定語從句中不能用what作為關系代詞,而用which,that。
