表感覺和知覺的系動詞
系動詞的定義:
英語的動詞中,有的后面要接名詞或代詞等作賓語,有的單獨作謂語,而有的動詞要接作表語的形容詞或名詞等。我們把后面接表語的動詞稱為系動詞。最常用、也是同學們最熟悉的系動詞就是be;除be以外,表感覺和知覺的動詞也可以是系動詞。
仔細看這些句子:
The chocolate cookies smell sweet.
巧克力曲奇餅干聞起來甜甜的。
He looks angry.
他看上去很生氣。
It tastes delicious.
這嘗起來味道鮮美。
The shirt feels soft.
這襯衫摸上去很軟。
表感覺和知覺的動詞有:look,smell,taste,sound,feel,相當于漢語的“看上去”、“聞起來”、“嘗起來”“聽起來”“摸起來”。
注意:這類系動詞與系動詞be不同,其否定形式和疑問形式的構成要加助動詞才行。如:
The soup smells delicious.
The soup doesn't smell delicious.

Summary
