語法項的重難點
enough to的用法
可以用“to be + adjective + enough + to”的結構來描述一個人的品質和能力。
如:
He is tall enough to reach the basket.
他個頭高,可以夠到籃筐。
The girl is not brave enough to go near the dog.
這個女孩膽子不夠大,不敢靠近那只狗。
Ⅰ、enough作定語,意為“足夠的,充分的”,位于名詞之前。
I have enough money for the book.
我有足夠的錢買這本書。
You have enough time to do it.
你有足夠的時間來做這件事。
Ⅱ、enough作狀語,意為“充足地,充分地”,修飾形容詞或副詞,放在形容詞或副詞之后。
That coat is dear enough.
那件大衣很貴。
Is this good enough?
這個夠好嗎?
Ⅲ、enough作表語,意為“足夠的”。
Six bottles should be enough.
六瓶應該夠了。
Suzy's friends
Suzy wants to tell her parents what she thinks about her friends. Help her make sentences using "to be + adjective + enough + to-infinitive".
Daniel
  his friends/ kind/ any time/ help
Daniel is kind enough to help his friends any time.
Millie
  listen/ patient/ when others speak/ carefully

Simon
  queue/ polite/in public

Amy
make everyone laugh/ funny/ after class

too...to的用法
可以用“to be + too + adjective + to do”的結構來表達一個否定的結果。如:
He is too tired to go on working.
他太累了,不能繼續工作。
British people are too polite to laugh loudly in public.
英國人太有禮貌了,不會在公共場合大聲笑。
可以在不定式前加介詞for引出邏輯主語。如:
The box is very heavy. The little boy cannot to carry.
= The box is too heavy for the little boy to carry.
The apple is very high. The child cannot reach it.
= The apple is too high for the child to reach.
注意:
Ⅰ. too...to結構和never一起使用是并不表示否定。如:
One is never too old to learn.
  活到老,學到老。
Ⅱ. “to be + too + adjective + to do”結構相當于“to be + not + adjective + enough + to do”,這兩個句型中的形容詞是反義詞。
1. He is too young to work.
= He is not old enough to work.
2. The girl is too short to see it.
= The girl is not tall enough to see it.
3. The question is too hard for me to answer.
= The question is not easy enough for me to answer.
After the radio show
The radio show is over. Millie wants to write about that day in her diary. Help her rewrite the sentences with "to be + too + adjective + to-infinitive".
1. Suzy was very shy. She did not join the discussion.
2. Simon was very excited. He did not express himself clearly.
3. Peter was slow. He could not write down all the main points.
4. Amy was careless. She did not take her hat with her when she left.
5. Kitty was very busy with her dancing lessons. She did not listen to the radio.
Work out the rule!
We often use "to be too + adjective(adjective, adverb) + to-infinitive" to express a negative result.
