詞語辨析
wound/injure/harm/hurt
wound 一般指外傷,如槍傷,刀傷等,尤指在戰場上受傷。
injure 常指因意外或事故而造成的損傷,可用于人或物。
harm 指損害有生命的或無生命的東西;也可指肉體上或精神上的損害。
hurt 指任何肉體或精神上的傷害。尤其指打傷,刺傷;還可表示“疼痛”。

damage/destory/ruin
damage “損壞”,意味著損壞后的價值或效率降低,一般式部分性的。
destroy 指十分徹底地“破壞”,含有不能或很難修復的意思。
ruin 指破壞嚴重,不能再修復但沒有destroy強烈,還可表示“毀滅,瓦解”等抽象含義。
1.Hundreds of houses in this area were (damaged)by the storm.

Sentence structure
1.Take clothing off the burned area unless it is stuck to the burn.
unless 作從屬連詞,引導條件狀語從句,作“除非...否則”講,相當于if...not.
注意:
①在unless 引導的從句里,謂語用一般現在時,不用一般將來時。
②在引導的從句里,當主語與從句主語是同一人或物,且有系動詞時,從句主語與系動詞可省略。
2.John was studying in his room when he heard screaming.
此句型中when作并列連詞相當于and then意為“正當....時突然”,常用于以下句型:
注意:
be doing...when... 正在做....突然
be about to do...when... 即將做...突然
be on the point of doing...when... 正要去做...突然
has/have/had done...when.. 剛剛...這時(突然)

強調句型
1)基本結構:It is/was+被強調部分+who/that...強調“人”,用who/that;強調“ 物”,用that。
2)強調句型強調的是句子中除謂語和定語之外的任何部分。
3)強調句中的it is/was和that/who去掉,句子結構仍是完整的。
4)一般疑問句:Is/Was+被強調部分+that/who...?
5)特殊疑問句:特殊疑問詞+is/was+that/who+?
6)特殊疑問句若做動詞的賓語,須用陳述語序。
7)在含有until引導的時間狀語的否定句中,如果強調時間狀語,結構是:
It is/was not until...that...

Grammar(省略)
高考考點
1.狀語從句中的省略
Be careful when (you are)crossing the street.
If (it is)possible,I'll pick you up.
在時間、條件、讓步狀語從句中,如果從句在主語和主句的主語相同或者是it,從句中謂語動詞又含有be的某一種形式,可以省略從句中的主語和謂語一起省略。
2.不定式結構中的省略
Don't touch anything unless the teacher tells you to (touch).
-Are you a teacher?
-No,but I want to be(a teacher).
-He hasn't finished the task.
-Well,he ought to have (finished it).
省略作賓語的動詞不定式,只保留to,但如果該賓是動詞be或完成時態,則須在to后加上be或have.
3.連詞的that省略
He said(that) the text was very important and that we should learn it by heart.
1)賓語從句中常that,但多個賓語從句并列時,通常只省略第一個that.
The book (that)I borrowed yesterday was hers.
2)在定語從句中that在作賓語使才能省略。
4.虛擬條件句中的省略
When I you,I would catch the good chance,
Had I follwed your advice,I wouldn't hacve missed the good chance.
Should there be a flood,we would run away.
條件從句中有shold,were或had時,可以省略if,但要將shold,were或had提至句首。
5.動詞不定式中to的省略。
I saw the boy fall from the tree.
The boy was seen to fall from the tree.
The boss made us work 12 hours a day.
We were made to work 12 hours a day.
某些使役動詞(let,make,have)及感官動詞(see,watch,hear,notice,observe,feel,look at,listen to等)后面作賓補的不定式一定要省去to,但在被動語態中必須將to 復原。
